TARGET JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ALBUM LAUNCH // We used the occasion of Justin Timberlake's foray back into music after a six year absence, to build Target's presence in the entertainment category. Target's music category needed an identifiable branding device to connect a variety of artists and different messaging pulses throughout the year. To help Target achieve consistency in the messaging of their entertainment offering, the red microphone was created to connect a year of music programming, launches, and sponsorships. In the months leading up to Justin's album release, Justin and Target needed a stunt that would connect the artist to his fans in a fresh way. The Super Fans experience was a stunt that was filmed as a television spot, and released to build buzz for the launch. Additionally, on the day of the launch, we created a Rat Pack-inspired party at the legendary El Rey theater, which was filmed and televised on the CW channel.
